ICAR-IISWC, RC, Koraput organized training cum distribution programme on Promotion of high value vegetable crops by using jholakundi water under RKVY project (Assessment of performance of traditional water harvesting structure Jhola kundi in enhancing socio-economic status of tribals in Koraput district, Odisha) at village Chandalguda, block Dasmantpur, district Koraput on 13.12.2023. Initiating the training programme, Sh. Rishi Kumar, Watershed department welcome one and all present in the programme and briefed in details about the purpose of this training programme. Speaking on this occasion, Dr. Ch. Jyotiprava Dash, PI of the project briefed in details about technical aspects Jhola Kundi and urged the farmers to adopt the technology for their income generation and betterment of life. Dr. J. Lenka, Sci (Fruit Sci) explained about the high value vegetable crops and their cultivation and for higher productivity of crop. Also briefed on vermicomposting unit and preparation of vermicompost, dosage and application procedure of vermicompost, FYM and along with chemical fertilizer use in vegetable crops. Village head/Sarpanch, Chandalguda explained on different government schemes related to water use and safe use of water and fertilizers for betterment of future. A total of 52 farmers including farm women from Chandalguda, block Dasmantpur, Odisha participated in this training programme. During interaction session farmers query were clarified by scientists and technical officers of the research centre. The programme was coordinated by Dr. Ch. J Dash, and Dr. J Lenka.
