One month training programme on Soil and Water Conservation and Watershed Management for B. Tech Agricultural Engineering students was organized from 1-31 May, 2023 by the ICAR-Indian Institute of Soil and Water Conservation (IISWC), Research Centre, Koraput, Odisha. A total of 15 students from UBKV, West Bengal, registered in the progarmme. The valedictory session of the training programme was held on 31.05. 2023 (A/N), where Dr. S.K. Samal welcomed all the scientists, Technical, administrative staffs and student trainees present in this occasion and summarized the overall training programme.
All students presented their learning during the training programme followed by their experience sharing and feedback about the training programme conducted. Speaking on this occasion, Dr. Hombe Gowda H.C., Head of the Centre & Course-director advised the students to make use of their experiential learning gained from the training programme. Addressing the students, Dr. P. Raja emphasized on the importance of soil conservation in maintaining eco-system services on sustainable basis. Dr. Ch. J. Dash encouraged students for higher studies in the field of natural resource management, and also advised the participating students to expose themselves to practical aspects and successful models of different soil and water conservations measures in different agro-ecological zones of India. Sh. G. W. Barla, STO & Coordinator presented the feedback & evaluation report. Sh. G. B. Naik, ACTO, Sh. Surender Kumar (STA & course-coordinator), Sh. Pradeep (TA), Sh. Anjeet Kumar (TA), Dibakar Jena (TA) helped in successful organization of the progarmme. All the administrative staff extended their support by facilitating completing all the official formality for successful conducting the programme. The Programme comes to an end with vote of thanks and the National Anthem.
