The ICAR-IISWC, RC, Ballari celebrated 77th Independence Day from 13th -15th August, 2023. The programme started with flag hoisting at Main office and Research Farm by Dr, M. Prabhavathi Acting Head of the Centre. She conveyed Independence Day wishes to all the staff and their family members and remembered the struggle and sacrifices of our freedom fighters to get Independence. She also appealed to all the staff to work with dedication and commitment for self reliant India. Dr. B.S Naik, Principal Scientist (SWCE) emphasized on the sacrifices laid down by the freedom fighters to obtain Azadi and the progress the nation has made in various spheres during the last 76 years.
Dr. M. N Ramesha, Senior Scientist, (Forestry) & OIC (Farm) urged all the employees at Research Farm to strive hard to take the Centre to new heights in the field of research and also appealed to put more effort for enhancement of revenue generation. On this occasion, Outstanding staffs at Scientific, technical, administrative and multi tasking staffs category were felicitated with appreciation certificates for their dedicated works and contribution during 2022-23.As a part of Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav (AKAM), ‘Har Ghar Tiranga Campaign’ was successfully organized on 14.8.2023 and 15.08.2023 by distributing the flags to the public at Sreedhargadda village and Ballari city. The staff of the Centre also uploaded their selfies with tiranga on GoI website. Around 100 participants actively participated in this event at Main office and Research Farm. The programme was coordinated by Sh. Abhishek Kumar Singh, (Technican). In the end, the programme was concluded with vote of thanks proposed by Sh. B.N Seshadri, (STO) and I/c AAO & DDO.
