ICAR-Indian Institute of Soil and Water Conservation, Dehradun and Official Language Department, Ministry of Home Affairs, Government of India organized a 'Hindi Essay Writing Competition' on 07.08.2024. The competition was held at the ICAR-IISWC, Dehradun for the member offices of the Town Official Language Implementation Committee Under the aegis of the Town Official Language Implementation Committee, Dehradun (Office-2).
The essay competition, centered on the topic "The Utility, Challenges, and Solutions of Soil and Water Conservation in India's Hilly Regions," saw participation from the Main office-ONGC and member offices such as the Food Corporation of India Regional Office Dehradun, All India Radio Dehradun, Ordnance Factory Dehradun, Central Board of Secondary Education Regional Office, Central Integrated Pest Management Centre Dehradun, Central Silk Board Dehradun, National Institute for Empowerment of Persons with Visual Disabilities Dehradun, PM Shri Kendriya Vidyalaya Ordnance Factory Dehradun, PM Shri K.V. No.-1 Hathibarkala Dehradun, K.V. No.-2 Hathibarkala Dehradun, K.V. FRI Dehradun, K.V. ONGC Dehradun, and the Indian Institute of Soil and Water Conservation Dehradun, with a total of 44 personnel participating.
After the completion of the competition, during a dialogue with the central government personnel, the Director of the institute, Dr. M. Madhu, provided a brief overview of the work of the Indian Institute of Soil and Water Conservation and discussed various important aspects of the official language Hindi and soil and water conservation. He stated that the official language Hindi acts as a bridge between all central offices, and today's gathering is a direct example of this.
At the end of the program, the Deputy Director (Official Language) of the institute, Mr. Ashutosh Kumar Tiwari, thanked all the participants for their large number of participations and expressed gratitude towards Mrs. R.S. Narayani, Chairperson of the Town Official Language Implementation Committee, Dehradun (Office-2), and Mr. Chandan Sushil Sajan, Member Secretary, for their guidance under which the competition was organized at the Indian Institute of Soil and Water Conservation, Dehradun.
