Dr. M. Madhu, Director, ICAR-IISWC, Dehradun visited Research Centre, Ballari during September, 04-05, 2023 for reviewing the pending CPWD works and monitoring research & development activities being carried out at the Centre. He was accompanied by Shri P.K. Garg, TO (Engg) from Head Quarters. On 04th Sept., 2023 (FN), the Director called brief meeting of all Centre's staff and reviewed the available facilities at Centre, and progress of various issues including administrative, staff welfare, appointment of AMAs, stores/bills, auctioning of unserviceable items, etc. After this, he visited Research Farm along with Scientists and other staff for attending Shravan puja at Research Farm.
In the afternoon session, he met with Hon'ble MLA Sandur and attended KISAN MELA organized at TSP adopted village Matajanahalli. During Kisan Mela, he addressed the farmers gathering from TSP and SCSP villages and distributed the farm equipments.
On 5th Sept, 2023, he visited Research Farm and had meeting with Farm staff and reviewed the activities carried out at Research Farm. He personally interacted with all Farm staff including contractual staff and instructed Head of Centre for speedy process of salary bills of contractual staff to ensure timely payment.
After Farm visit, he returned back to main office and attended meeting with CPWD officials in the presence of Dr. M. Prabhavathi, Senior Scientist and Acting Head, Dr. B.S.Naik, Principal Scientist (SWC Engg.) and Er. P.K.Garg, TO (Engg.) and reviewed all the pending civil works (Overhead tank and other repair works).
He instructed the CPWD officials to submit estimates for various repair and maintenance works at Center including office, guest house, training hostel and residential quarters. In the afternoon, Director took a lecture session for B.Tech (Agril. Engg.) students undergoing one month in-plant training at RC, Ballari. Thereafter he had a meeting with Centre's Scientist and reviewed the progress of ongoing research projects including TSP and SCSP activities and future course of actions.
The visit was ended with vote of thanks to the Director and staff members of the RC, Ballari by Dr M. Prabhavathi, Senior Scientist and Acting Head.
