Today, on 12th March, 2024, Indian Institute of Soil and Water Conservation, Dehradun organized a drone spraying demonstration and farmers' seminar in village Echhala and Phateu. In this program, farmers of village Echala, Phateu, Samalta and Phata in Chakrata hills of Dehradun District participated and discussions were held about the problems related to crop production.
The Principal Investigator of Agri. Drone Project, Dr. M Sankar, Sr Scientist, ICAR-IISWC shared information with the farmers about spraying chemicals and nutrients from drones and told about any drone related schemes for farmers. Mr. Prakash Singh STO and the technical assistant of the institute Mr. Ravish Singh explained the farmers about the benefits of spraying by drone.
Gram Pradhan Echala, Sh. Sunil shared his views on drone technology and helped in drone demonstration on farmers’ field. During the demonstration, spraying was done using drone in the fields of farmers of village Echala Phateu , Phata and Samalta over the crops Peas, Wheat, Barley , Garlic and Onion crops. The program held in adopted villages of the Institute TSP scheme and executed under the Drone Demonstration project. About 40 farmers participated in the program.
