Hindi Chetna Maas was celebrated in the Indian Institute of Soil and Water Conservation, Dehradun from 01 September 2023 to 30 September 2023. Under this, for the first time on 01.09.2023, the inaugural ceremony of Hindi Chetna Maas was organized in the seminar room of the institute.
In this ceremony, renowned neo-lyricist of Hindi literature, senior journalist and former professor of Delhi University, Aseem Shukla ji was invited as the chief guest. Shri Shukla ji, with his insightful speech, not only enlightened all the listeners but also inspired them to work devotedly towards Hindi. Expressing his views on Hindi Day, he said, Neither any English Day is celebrated in England nor any language day in any other country, but in India Hindi Day, Hindi Fortnight or Hindi Chetna Maas is celebrated. This does not at all mean that the purpose of the government is only to celebrate, but the purpose of the government behind this is that we should not become free from our language but should remain connected to our roots because the one who is separated from the roots, gets destroyed. Emphasizing on the universality of Hindi language, he said, Hindi has come from the huts of saint poets and not from the royal courts, hence we can say that Hindi cannot be separated from our lives.
In his address during the inauguration ceremony, Director of the Institute, Dr. M. Madhu said that In the present changing economic and cultural scenario of the world, Hindi language has been firmly established not only as the national language but also as a global language. is. Multinational companies of the world are using Hindi the most in their advertisements. Therefore, such an important language is like an asset for all of us, by using it as much as possible we can contribute to the upliftment of the Hindi language
Hindi competitions started after the inauguration ceremony. Hindi essay competition was organized on 04.09.23 and dictation competition was organized on 05.09.23. On 08.09.23, a debate competition was organized in hybrid mode online and offline topic - How challenging is it for Hindi literature to include sub-dialects of Hindi in the Eighth Schedule of the Constitution in which along with the headquarters, Scientists, officers and employees of research centers also participated.
A Hindi elocution competition was also organized in hybrid mode on 11 September 2023 in which personnel from the headquarters and centers participated. On the occasion of acceptance of Hindi as the official language of the Union on 14 September 1949, 'Hindi Day' ceremony was celebrated in which all the personnel present in the seminar room gave impromptu statements in Hindi language on the topic 'Soil and Water Conservation' and as a gift, Everyone was honored by the Director by giving them a sapling. The Hindi Day function was conducted by Shri Heera Nand Sharma, Senior Administrative Officer.
Hindi poetry recitation competition was organized in hybrid mode on 19 September 2023. Hindi drafting and comment writing competition was organized in the committee room of Social Science Division on 20 September 2023. On 25 September 2023, a pure and quick Hindi writing competition was organized only for non-Hindi speaking employees.
A National Seminar was organized through Zoom meeting on 27.09.23. The topic of the seminar was - Importance of Hindi as an official language. Chief guest of this program- Prof. Khemsingh Daheria Vice-Chancellor - Atal Bihari Hindi University, Bhopal, Madhya Pradesh as keynote speaker - Prof. Gangadhar Vanode Area Director, Central Hindi Institute, Hyderabad and as special speaker - Prof. Rajni Bala Chairman, Hindi Department, Jammu University, Jammu Prof. Rajendra Gautam Former Professor Delhi University Dr. Preeti K. Associate Professor and Chairman, Hindi Department, Kannur University, Kerala were present.
Shri Keshav Dev, Former Joint Director Official Language, IARI, New Delhi , Shri Jai Narayan Upadhyay, Official Language Officer National Physical Laboratory, New Delhi, Dr. Shankar Sharma, Assistant Director Official Language, FRI, Dehradun, Shri Devendra Kumar Dharam, Deputy Director Official Language NBLUSS, Nagpur played the role of judge in these competitions.
The closing and prize distribution ceremony of 'Hindi Chetna Maas' was organized on 04 October 2023. Pro. Ram Vinay Singh, Department of Sanskrit, D.A.V. College, Dehradun was the chief guest on this occasion. Shri Singh threw light on the mutual relationship between Sanskrit and Hindi, the historical etymology of the Hindi word and the topic.
During the prize distribution ceremony, a total of 71 winners of competitions in Hindi speaking category and non-Hindi speaking category were awarded by the Director and the Chief Guest. In his presidential address during the ceremony, the Director of the Institute, Dr. M. Madhu, first addressed Prof. Thanked Ram Vinay Singh for accepting the invitation and giving his useful and inspirational statement.
After this, while congratulating all the award winners of the institute headquarters and regional centres, he instructed all of them to send their articles and poems in the Hindi magazine of the institute. The entire work of preparing the outline of the program of Hindi Chetna Maas 2023, organizing the competitions, coordinating the programs and conducting the stage was done by the Deputy Director Official Language Mr. Ashutosh Kumar Tiwari.
