ICAR-Indian Institute of Soil and Water Conservation, Research Centre, Ballari organised Farmers-Scientist interaction meeting on invitation of Bili-Neru Chilume Agriculture and Sericulture Farmers Producer Company (FPC), Kondlahalli, Molakalmuru taluk of Chitradurga District on the occasion of Farmers day on 23.12.2022. During the visit, interaction meeting with President, Directors and CEO of the FPC were organised and detailed discussion on needs and possible collaboration options of IISWC, RC, Ballari on developmental efforts of Farmer Producer Company were discussed. During the event, President of FPC, Mr. K T Sriram Reddy welcomed the staff of IISWC, RC, Ballari and briefed about the journey and present activities of FPC.
Further, group of directors were put forwarded the need for encouraging the farmers to adopt the Natural farming techniques and request for training on basic aspects of Natural farming and their techniques with the help of any experts and progressive farmers involving in Natural farming. Further, Mr. Ravi, K N., Scientist (Agri. Extension) discussed about the importance of Natural Farming in the present context and involved in clearing the concepts of traditional farming, organic farming and chemical farming to the farmers and Directors of FPC. He also briefed about recent ICAR and IISWC efforts about research on Natural farming. Sh. Gourv Bhati (T-1) proposed vote of thanks to FPC and its members and assisted in successful interaction. About 11 farmers and board of members of FPC were involved in interaction meeting.Later Team visited visited TSP adopted village Mattajanahalli, Sandur taluk, Ballri district and discussed in detail about the formation of “Custom Hiring Centre” under TSP Programme with the women members of “Sri Maramma Women SHG”.
