On 14.07.2023, the ICAR- Indian Institute of Soil and Water Conservation, Research Centre, Ballari organized one day programme to distribute agro chemicals to the farmers of Mattajanahalli village, Sandur taluk, Ballari District. Dr. M. Prabhavathi, Senior Scientist (Soils) and Acting Head elucidated farmers about the significance of integrated nutrient management in groundnut crop productivity and soil fertility.
Besides this, she enlightened the expected outcome of adoption of seed treatment chemicals, application of gypsum, micronutrient mixtures, and plant growth regulators in crop production. During this particular occasion, agro chemicals viz., carbendazim, NPK Bio fertilizers, micronutrient fertilizer and plant growth regulators were distributed among the groundnut growing farmers under TSP programme. Dr. M. Prabhavathi made clear the farmers on "how to use agro chemicals which were distributed to them and its rationale in field crops in general and for groundnut crop in particular".
Dr. M. Prabhavathi coordinated this event with help of Sh. T. Ravichandra, TO and Sh. P. Mohan Kumar, TO (Lab). Around 35 farmers attended this event and at the end, Sh. Vamadevappa of Mattajanahalli village proposed a vote of thanks.
