ICAR-Indian Institute of Soil and Water Conservation, Research Centre, Ballari organized a “Kisan Gosthi” and “Awareness Campaign” as a part of Mission Lifestyle for Awareness (LiFE), on 31st May, 2023 at Mattajanahalli, a TSP adopted village in Ballari district. Kisan Goshti and awareness campaign was organized on use of plastic and its consequences. During the programme all the farmers participants are welcomed by Dr. Ravi Dupdal, Sr. Sci. (Ag.Econ.) & Coordinator of the programme. He explained the main objectives of the programme and sensitized farmers about Mission LiFE and its importance.
Dr. B.S Naik P.Sci (SWC Engg.) explained about importance of environment and its protection and also explained consequences of use of plastics. The farmers-Scientists interaction about environment protection under changing climatic situation was also held during Kisan Gosthi. After Kisan Gosthi programme, farmers were distributed improved variety of foxtail millet seeds (HN 46) for cultivation. At the end, Dr. Ravi Dupdal proposed formal vote of thanks. The programme was assisted by Mr. Abhishek Kumar, T-1, Mr. Ravichandra, TO (VD) and Mr. Nazeer, MR labour. The program was participated by 45 farmers including staff members.
