On 27.2.2020 the ICAR-IISWC, RC, Ballari organized a lecture in accordance with guidelines received from the Govt. of India on celebration of Constitution day. Dr. S. L. Patil, Head of the Centre in his welcome address briefed about Centres' research activities and its vision. Dr. Y. Janardhan Reddy, Assistant Professor (Political Science), Sarala Devi College, Ballari and Chief Guest presided over the programme. He discussed about "Constitution, Citizen duties, Land legislation and Reforms" for about 45 minutes. He shared the motive behind celebration of Indian Republic day on 26th January of every year with the participants. He explained in detail about Poorna Swaraj, Preamble to Constitution, difference between rights and duties, land legislation in India etc. He stressed on land reforms and its impact on Indian agriculture and conscientiousness of citizens for making cause in public. He enlightened the Centres' staff about duties, responsibilities and rights and startled about how land reforms affected Indian agriculture and economy. Further, He appealed all Scientists for doing research professionally to make positive changes in the policy taking into account of public especially farming community. Smt. M. Prabhavathi, Scientist (Soils) coordinated this programme and briefed about the aim of celebration of "Constitution day" across India. Nearly 25 participants including Staffs of Main office, Research Farm attended this particular event.
