ICAR-Indian Institute of Soil and Water Conservation, Dehradun and ICAR- Central Cattle Research Institute, Meerut organized one day training program under tribal sub plan for tribal farmers at Village Badripur, Vikasnagar, Dehradun. On the occasion about 120 farmers attended the workshop cum training for cattle health. The event was inaugurated by Dr. Charan Singh, Head plant science division, ICAR-IISWC Dehradun and delivered talk on the importance of livelihood security during recent times. He also emphasized on many horticulture produce such as mushroom, horticulture etc. At the outset, Dr. A.C Rathore, co-organizer of event extended a warm welcome to gathering, Chief Guest and principle scientist Dr. S. K Verma and Dr. Sidhhart Sah of ICAR- CIRC Meerut . He also emphasized the importance of strawberry production potential of the area. He also narrated importance of livestock healthcare for income security. He invited Dr. S. K Verma for his lecture of cattle care and nutrition. Dr. S. K Verma spoken on various aspect of cattle feed of milch and draught animals. He delivered importance of complete nutrition of cattle feed which includes protein, energy, mineral and other vitamins.
On this occasion, another expert Dr. Sidhhart Sah, Principle Scientist from ICAR CIRC Meerut, gave a talk on animal health. He thanked ICAR IISWC Dehradun for giving opportunity for the talk. He provided information of medicine to be used by farmer as distributed as cattle medical kit.
Farmer questions were addressed by experts of CIRC Meerut and IISWC experts. Various questions were asked by farmers for livestock diseases and deficiency. The answers were provided by the experts and due solutions were given. Shri Subhash Chand ji gram pradhan and Shri Ganshayam ji former gram Pradhan spoken about various probelms of livestock like diseases related to infertility and malnutrition.
In this programme, 120 cattle medical kits were distributed to farmers for livestock. The other faculty of ICAR IISWC Dehradun, Dr. Jayaprakash, Senior scientist, Dr. Anupam Barh, Scientist, Ms. Bidiya, Ms. Santoshi and Mr. Abhishek Pundir were part of organization of event. The event ended with a vote of thanks by Dr. A. C Rathore to the farmers, experts from CIRC Meerut.
