ICAR-Indian Institute of soil and water conservation, Research Centre, Ballari organized a programme on 23.01.2023 for distribution of motor driven sewing machine of 3 numbers under TSP programme, 2022-23 at Mattajanahalli Watershed. The purpose of the activity is to create self employment among the schedule tribe widow women under Below Poverty Line. The event was preceded by the Dr. B S Naik, Sr. Sci. (SWCE). Speaking to the women in the village, he asked beneficiary to utilize the machines for generating regular income through sewing works.
During the event, Head of Centre and Scientist team (TSP) handed over the registration certificate of newly formed SHG group named “Sri Maremma Stree Shakthi Mahila Swa Sahaya Sangha” Registration No. DRBL/SOR/851/2022-23 (Category of SHG: SC/ST), Promoted and facilitated by the ICAR-IISWC, RC, Ballari at Mattajanahalli watershed, to Women group, under TSP Programme and also discussed on mutual agreement for formation and management of Custom Hiring Centre. Mr. Ravi, K N, Sci. (Agri. Extension) asked all the women to ensure establishment of office and gowdown unit for custom hiring centre before handing over all the mechanical instruments sanctioned under TSP and also requested to include one women from each ST household of the village as a member of SHG. Speaking to the villagers Mr. Ramesha M N, Sci. (Forestry) and Mr. Amruth Morade, Sci. (Fruit science) discussed and sensitized women group about possibilities of starting entrepreneurial activity by SHG under Custom Hiring Centre in coming days.
During the event Mr. Thimanna (village leader) and Bhagyamma (President of SHG), Shobha (Treasurer of SHG) and all women members of SHG and village people was present in the programme.
