ICAR-IISWC, Dehradun organised a Farmer Field Day at village Lalwala Khalsa, District Haridwar, Uttarakhand in collaboration with ICAR-CIRC, Meerut under SCSP scheme on 22nd February, 2023. The programmed was presided by the Dr. Umesh Singh, Director, ICAR-CIRC, Meerut and Dr. D V Singh, PI, SCSP project and Head HRD&SS Division. The brief about the program was explained by the Dr. D V Singh. Dr. Umesh Singh, Director discussed about the importance of breeding and breed improvement of cattle in that area. Dr. S K Verma, Principal Scientist and Dr. Rajeev Ranjan, Senior Scientist were present from ICAR-CIRC, Meerut. They appraised the farmers about various animal health issues, diseases and their management, and they also discussed about the importance of nutrient rich animal feed to keep their animals healthy and to increase animal milk productivity. Besides, Mr. Kapil Kumar, a representative from UPL Advanta, an agricultural seed company, also deliberated upon various nutritious fodder crops which can be grown by farmers. During this program, milking bucket, mineral mixture, medicine for deworming and ticks & mites and tarpaulin were distributed to the eligible beneficiary farmers. A total of 130 farmers from Lalwala Khalsa, Buggawala (Nokra Grant) and Daud Bassi attended the program and benefited by the knowledge shared by the experts. Sh. Dharam Singh and Sh. Ram Gopal along with other villagers facilitated the organisation of this program. The team of Dr. Abimanyu Jhajhria, Scientist, Mr. Inder Singh Chauhan, Senior Technician and Mr. Dharmpal, Technician coordinated the programme at the village.
