ICAR-Indian Institute of Soil & Water Conservation, Research Centre, Kota celebrated 70th Foundation Day of Institute on 7th April 2023 at IISWC, Research Centre, Kota, Rajasthan. On this auspicious occasion, the office building was decorated with colourful lights. Dr. Ashok Kumar, Principle Scientist, Hosted the programme and welcomed the gatherings. Further, he mentioned that the IISWC Regional Centre and its scientists are concentrating on managing natural resources for sustainable agricultural production which will be beneficial to the societies. Dr. Shakir Ali, Head of ICAR-IISWC, RC, Kota, presides over the function, delivered inaugural address and narrated the history and research achievements of this centre on this occasion. In his inaugural address he acknowledged the valuable contribution of IISWC Regional Centre on soil and water conservation, watershed management and ravine research especially for central India. He pointed out that the soil and water management is crucial and the soil and water conservation technologies and watershed concept developed by the institute are adopted massively all over India. Dr S. Ali also congratulated all the scientists and employees of the Centre on behalf of Director Sir. Dr. Gopal Lal Meena, Sr. Scientist and organising secretary highlighted background of the event. The foundation function was concluded with the vote of thanks proposed by Dr. G.K. Sharma, Scientist of the centre.
