On 05/06/2023, ICAR-IISWC, Research centre, Vasad Celebrated World Environment Day at Research Farm. Under SCSP -2023 activities, Centre was organizing various events from 2nd week of May 2023 onward to achieve Mission Lifestyles for environment Awareness, at SCSP, TSP watershed and MGMG villages. In the continuation, Today’s programme Dr. Dinesh Jinger, Scientist (Agronomy), briefed about theme of the Environment Day and Mission Lifestyles for Awareness- focusing change in demand by nudging the individuals, communities and institutes to practice simple eco-friendly activities in their daily lives.
Dr. Dinesh, Head of the Centre, addressed the audience and urged them not to use single use plastic. He also emphasized to go for natural or organic food consumption for healthy lifestyle. Dr. A.K. Singh, Former Head of the Centre, spoken about role of Mantra’s in protection of environment and mental peace in the day to day activities.
Moreover, Plantation activity was also carried out by all the staff members. Dr. Smita Pillai, in her distinguished role as Chief Guest at IISWC, Vasad, left a lasting impression during the World Environment Day event. The ceremony was highlighted by Dr. Pillai's presentation of awards and certificates to commend exemplary students who have shown unwavering commitment to environmental stewardship. In her captivating and thought-provoking address, Dr. Pillai passionately emphasized the importance of embracing a sustainable and environmentally conscious lifestyle.
