The Indian Institute of Soil and Water Conservation (ICAR-IISWC), Dehradun has organized a “Special Seminar on "Values and Professional Ethics" on 5.1.2024. Dr (Prof.) Abhay Saxena, Dean, School of Technology, Management & Communication, Dev Sanskriti University (DSVV), Haridwar deliberated and participated in a Q&A session on the topic. Dr M Madhu, Director, IISWC discussed the understanding on the significance of genetics and environment in making of value systems and inculcation of ethics. Dr Abhay, through his words of wisdom and historical details inspired the scientist participants to make a change in self and contribute to society. Explaining existing crisis the current generation phasing through he called for humanity and humility within self just for being human and bring out the inner core of the self.
Dr M Muruganandam, Principal Scientist and Head (PME & KM Unit), Coordinator of the seminar informed that the session exposed different dimensions of the value systems and importance of the professional ethics in work environment and amongst the professionals. The event highlighted the needs of balancing the misbalancing forces like stress, and greed, through principally agreed professional qualities like intelligence, honesty, dutifulness, bravery, forgiveness and kindness. A discussion on Digital Nirvana and progress from Semantic to Samadhi held in the seminar. Dr Abhay called on to have collaboration and inviting all the participants to his university and the associated solace Institution, SHANTIKUNJ at Haridwar. Er SS Shrimali, Sr Scientist , IISWC facilitated the discussion and Q & Session on various topic of interest on the theme. A total of 30 Institute scientists physically attended the seminar and interacted with the resource person.
