ICAR-Indian institute of soil and water conservation, Dehradun has organized the valedictory function of 125th batch regular training “certificate course on soil and water conservation and watershed development on 20th Aug. 2023. The programme was featured by certificate distribution to the 29 participants, who came for 4 months training from different corners of India, for successful completion of four month training programme. The programme was graced by the Chief Guest Prof. Durgesh Pant, Director General, Uttarakhand State council for Science and Technology (UCOST), Dehradun. Dr. Lekh Chand, Principal Scientist, Agronomy, has started the programme. At the beginning of the program, the Chief Guest was welcomed by Dr. M. Madhu, the Honorable Director of IISWC Dehradun. The Course Director and Head, HRD&SS, Dr. Charan Singh has outlined the progress of the regular training program since 1955 and presented the achievements.
During this training program, the first edition of the book series WATERSHED: Water Augmentation Technologies for Ecological Restoration and Societal Holistic Economic Development was released by the Chief Guest and Director, IISWC. This book covered the latest concepts and technologies in soil and water conservation and agricultural production across the country. Prof. Pant made his valuable remarks on the usefulness of this training. He has appreciated the performance and dedicated work of the IISWC in the field of soil and water conservation. He also blessed and congratulated the participants on their achievement and gave insight for their future work. The programme was ended with vote of thanks given By Dr Abimanyu Jhajhria. This training programme was Directed by Dr Charan Singh (Head, HRD&SS) and coordinated by Dr Abimanyu Jhajhria (Scientist, HRD&SS) and Dr Devideen Yadav (Scientist, Agronomy). Shri Suresh Kumar and Shri M.P. Juyal was technical coordinator of this training.
