A Farmer Field School on processing and marketing of medicinal crops was organized at Patanjali Yoga Peeth, Haridwar on 25 Nov. 2024 under ICAR-NASF Project. Sh Shubham, Sh Tarun Sharma and Sh Parveen Pathak, the Experts from Patanjali Yoga Peeth, Haridwar explained about various units like processing plant of medicinal plants, manufacturing unit of soap bars, packaging unit, different warehouses etc. The Farmer Field School included the lectures and process demonstration of various value-added food products like processing of Chawanpras, Candy, Toothpaste, Soaps, Facewash, marmalade, pickle, hingoli etc.
The programme was attended by 50 farmers including women of different Self-Help Groups of the various villages like Dharkot, Katkod, Simiyand, Thal, Bhagwanpur, Kandogal and Talai under Raipur block. They were very much motivated after learning by seeing the preparation of various value-added products. They were also briefed about various standards and marketing strategies to make big business on sustainable basis. The farmer field school was coordinated by Dr Indu Rawat, Sr. Scientist and Dr Abhimanyu Jhajhria, Scientist, Sh Sonu, Sh Anil Malik and Sh Vikash Yadav under the guidance of Dr Bankey Bihari, Principal Scientist and CCPI of the Project.
