The United States-India Educational Foundation (USIEF) Fulbright Commission of India, New Delhi programmed a series of outreach workshops in various research Institutions and academia located in Dehradun during 13-14 March 2024.
At the outset, Dr M Madhu Director ICAR-IISWC welcoming Dr Jaya Bharati sought for details of the fellowship opportunities available with the Foundation, for the benefit of all the scientists and scholars of the Institute.
Dr Inumulu Jaya Bharati, Program Coordinator, India Program, USIEF, New Delhi visited ICAR-Indian Institute of Soil and Water Conservation (ICAR-IISWC), FRI, UPES, CSIR-IIP and other Institutions located in Dehradun, and highlighted the Fulbright and various other Fellowship hosted by USIEF and in collaboration with US Government. Dr Jaya Bharati explained about various Fellowships administered, eligibility criteria, deadlines for the current session, evaluation pattern, tips for successful applications, pitfalls, level of competitiveness and support systems available. She requested to follow the social media and website platform of the USIEF for updates.
Dr M Muruganandam, Principal Scientist and Head (PME &KM Unit), IISWC shared his experience as a Fulbright scholar and the opportunities that are in built in the programs implemented by the USIEF in collaboration with US Embassy, Department of External Affairs, Government of India and Department of State, Government of USA. Dr Muruganandam briefed the unique opportunities and transforming benefits that the scientist and scholars may receive from the Fellowship, if avails any of the Fellowship from USIEF.
About 50 scientists and scholars of ICAR-IISWC attended the outreach program both in physical and online mode. The participants got cleared various doubts and apprehension over the Fellowships and opportunities during the Q&A session. About 200 scientists, professionals and scholars from other Institutions like FRI and UPES got benefited from the 2-day long outreach meetings held in their respective Institutions.
