Training programme on “FPOs Formation and Institutional Arrangements for Sustainable Management of SWC Interventions” is being organized during 03-05 January 2024 for 25 farmers and 3 Soil Conservation Officials from Roop Nagar district of Punjab. This training was sponsored by Divisional Soil Conservation Officer (Training Institute), Roop Nagar, Punjab. The training is aimed at to enhance the knowledge of Officers/ Farmers/ User Groups on formation of FPOs so as to enhance the income of farming community and creation of community institutions for sustainable management of soil and water conservation interventions.During the inaugural function, Dr Charan Singh, Head, HRD&SS Division and Course Director welcomed all the farmers and Officers. He apprised about the genesis of series of trainings on FPO formation and also motivated them for creating FPOs and emphasized on smart marketing tactics. He urged that farmers should take full benefits from Govt.
organizations in their area. On this occasion, he assured that training content is designed very carefully considering the requirements of sponsoring agency and the farmers. Dr Indu Rawat, Coordinator of the programme presented programme outline and apprised that training includes lectures and visits to successful FPOs of Dehradun district besides participatory water resource development at Kalimati village, Raipur and Pasauli, block Vikasnagar. The Overall programme was coordinated by Dr. Indu Rawat and Sh Anil Kumar Chauhan, Chief Technical Officer as Technical Coordinator for this training programme. The programme is successfully organized with the help of Scientists of the HRD&SS Division namely Dr. Lekh Chand, Dr. Matbar Rana, Dr. Abimanyu Jhajhria. The technical support was provided by Sh Suresh Kumar, Sh K R Joshi and Sh Dharm Pal. The Divisional Staff including Mrs Lata, Sh Kamal Kishore, Ms Neha, Mr Naresh Lal and Mr Shubham supported in the organization of whole training programme.
