ICAR- Indian Institute of Soil and Water Conservation, Research Centre, Chandigarh organized four weeks In Plant / Skill development Training on “Soil and Water Conservation & Watershed Management” for B. Tech. (Agricultural Engineering) students from 01-07-2024 to 30-07-2024. Students from College of Technology and Agricultural Engineering, (Agriculture University Jodhpur, Rajasthan); College of Agricultural Engineering & Technology, Ludhiana, (Punjab Agricultural University) and College of Agricultural Engineering and Technology, Hisar (Chaudhary Charan Singh Haryana Agriculture University) A total 32 number of students registered and attended the training programme. In this batch, 19 boys and 13 girls were there. The valedictory function of the training programme was held on 30th July, 2024 at 11:30 AM. Dr. Manoj Kumar, Scientist (SWCE) & Coordinator of training programme briefed about the course curriculum and summarized the overall training programme. Students in their feedback praised about the practical aspects and gave valuable suggestions for betterment of the training programme in future. On this occasion Dr. Pradeep Dogra, Acting Head of the Chandigarh Centre, and chief guest of the function, explained the importance of the usefulness of the education received by the students and mentioned the possible benefits in the future. He advised the students to spread the learning as a brand ambassador of ICAR – Indian Institute of Soil and Water Conservation. He wished for a bright future to all the students. After successful completion of the training course, certificates were given to all the participants. Dr. Sharmistha Pal, Principal Scientist & Co-Coordinator of training programme proposed the vote of thanks and expressed her gratitude to all the resource persons for delivering lectures, conducting practical classes and sharing their vast experiences with the students.
