One month In Plant Training on “Soil and Water Conservation and Watershed Management” for B. Tech. (Agricultural Engineering) students from from Mahamaya College of Agricultural Engineering & Technology, Acharya Narendra Deva University of Agriculture & Technology, Kumarganj, Ayodhya (U.P.) and Centurion University of Technology and Management, Paralakhemundi, Odisha was organized at ICAR- Indian Institute of Soil and Water Conservation, Research Centre, Chandigarh during 01-06-2023 to 30-06-2023.
Total 34 number of students registered and attended the training programme. The valedictory function of the training programme was held on 30th June, 2023 at 10.30 AM where Dr. Pradeep Dogra, Acting Head of the Centre, briefed about the centre and background of offline course and emphasized the importance of new vision in combination with improved tools and methods to deal with natural resource management, soil and water conservation technologies under different agro-climatic condition. Dr. O. P.S. Khola in his address advised the participating students to expose themselves to practical aspects of different soil and water conservations measures in different agro-ecological zones of India. The students were highly motivated after listening them. Dr. Manoj Kumar, Scientist (SWCE) & Coordinator of training programme briefed about the course curriculum and summarized the overall training programme. All students gave their feedback. Certificates for successful completion of the course were given to all the participants. Dr. O.P. Premi, Pr. Sci. (Agronomy) & Co-coordinator proposed the vote of thanks. Other support provided by Dr. Ram Prasad (Pr. Sci., Horticulture) Dr. Pankaj Panwar (Pr. Sci., Forestry) Dr. Sharmistha Pal (Sci., Soil Science), Sh. H.C. Sharma (ACTO) and Ms. Shalini Sharma (T-3) helped in successful completion of the training programme.
