ICAR-Indian institute of soil and water conservation, Dehradun has organized the valedictory function of 127th batch regular training “Certificate course on soil and water conservation and watershed management” on Aug. 21, 2024. The programme was featured by certificate distribution to the officer trainees for successful completion of four-month training programme w.e.f. 22nd April to 21st Aug. 2024. Total 22 trainees from Assam, Kerala, Punjab, Meghalaya and Arunachal Pradesh participated in this training course. The programme was graced by the Chief Guest, Sh Vinay Kumar, IFS, Principal Chief Conservator of Forests (PCCF) and (DDG (Adm.)-cum-director, International Cooperation, ICFRE). At the beginning of the program, the honorable Chief Guest was welcomed by Dr. M. Madhu, the Director of IISWC Dehradun.
Sh Vinay Kumar, IFS, DDG (Adm.) shared his experiences about trainings organized within and outside the country and insisted the Officer Trainees for active learning during training course, so that it can be better utilized in their respective domain areas. He made his valuable remarks on the usefulness of this training for the line departments. He congratulated the trainees on their achievement and gave insight for their future work. Dr M. Madhu, Director of the Institute said that the Officer Trainees are ambassador of the Institute and should apply the learnings learnt during 4 month training course. Dr. Charan Singh, the Course Director and Head, HRD&SS, briefed about the Chief Guest and welcomed all. He outlined the progress of the regular training program since 1955-56 to till now and presented the training report and achievements.
The programme was ended with vote of thanks given by Dr Abimanyu Jhajhria. This training programme was Directed by Dr Charan Singh (Head, HRD&SS) and coordinated by Dr Indu Rawat (Sr. Scientist) and Dr Abimanyu Jhajhria (Scientist, Agril. Eco.). The training was successfully completed with the untiring efforts of Dr Lekh Chand (Pr. Sci.), Dr Matber Singh Rana (Sr. Scientist), Sh Anil Kumar Chauhan, Sh Suresh Kumar (CTO), Sh Dharmpal, (T-1), Sh Sonu (T-1) and Sh Kamal Kishore (SSS).
