A team of technical experts from the ICAR-Indian Institute of Soil and Water Conservation, Dehradun, organized a one-day Exposure Visit for students of classes 6th, 7th, and 8th at Kendriya Vidyalaya Raipur, Dehradun. This event was conducted as part of the Scientific Social Responsibility (SSR) Activity under the DST ANRF Project (CRG/2022/006995) on 11 November 2024. Around 450 enthusiastic students participated in the session, gaining hands-on exposure to soil and water testing techniques in a specially arranged interactive session. The program was designed to introduce young minds to the basics of scientific lab testing and to foster curiosity about soil and water conservation methods.
The exposure visit was coordinated by Mrs Sarita Gupta, Asst Chief Technical Officer, Dr Hanna Pamei, Mrs Priyanka Khanthwal, and Project Staff Miss Ayushi Pandey under the guidance and leadership of Dr Trisha Roy Scientist and Principal Investigator of Project “To study effectiveness of nano urea fertilizer in terms of crop production, soil health and environmental health”. Through this initiative, ICAR-Indian Institute of Soil and Water Conservation aims to inspire the next generation to actively engage in environmental conservation and adopt a scientific approach to understanding soil and water resources. This exposure visit not only enhanced students' scientific knowledge but also aligned with the institute’s commitment to Scientific Social Responsibility by empowering the local community through education.
